Résumé : Ce mémoire a pour sujet les found footages. Je tente de comprendre et d’analyser le genre, en vue d’en poser les spécificités, les règles. Le genre né avec la sortie de Cannibal holocaust, réalisé par Ruggero Deodato, en 1980. Il se confirme presque vingt après avec le film Le projet Blair Witch. Les found footages se basent sur une trame scénaristique particulière : quelqu’un retrouve des images sur une cassette, bobine de film, ou une caméra et décide de nous montrer ce qu’elle contient. Les found footage nous font donc croire à de fausse image amateur. D’abord associé au genre documenteur ou à la caméra subjective, le genre reprend et contamine la production fantastique entre 2007 et 2012, avec la sortie de films comme Cloverfield ou bien
[REC]. Tout au long de ce mémoire j’essaye d’analyser les différents aspect de l’esthétique de ces films autour notamment de la question du point-de-vue et du rapport entre récit et objectivité.

Abstract: This memoire is about found footages. I tried to understand and analyze the genre, to get its rules. The genre was born with the release of Cannibal Holocaust, directed by Ruggero Deodato, in 1980. It is confirmed almost twenty years later with the film The Blair Witch Project . The found footages are based on a particular storyline : someone finds images on a tape, film reel, or a camera and decides to show us what it contains. The found footages try make us believe in false amateur image. First associated with the mockumentary genre or the subjective camera, this gender resumes and contaminates fantastic output between 2007 and 2012, with the release of films like Cloverfield or [REC]. Throughout this memoire I try to analyze the different aspects of the aesthetics of the films, including the question of the point of view and the relationship between story and realism.
